"panty kung panty," said my fellow recitalist. ehm...okay! pardon the stomach, but it's a happy stomach *ting* ;-) i really do look like a rabbit. and when in makeup, a japanese rabbit!
Finally! Thanks, K, for taking such nice shots :) To fellow recitalists, lemme know if you want hi-res versions and i'll email them to you :) Don't you miss rehearsals, already? Gah.
swollen feet? no problem! bellydancing helps you forget the pain :) despite what happened to me friday, i decided to push through with the recital, else i thought i'd feel even worse. it was bearable and nobody would expect me to be at my best. got a lot of love that day :) these girls are the coolest :) i have a newfound love for this and plan to be able to teach by the time i am 40 years old. (photos courtesy of fabi, kristine, alda and www.toji.multiply.com--official event photog). i'll upload mine soon :)

Two oldies tag along a group of philosophy students. What struck me most about the temple was how it had a lot of excess (to me), but these looked beautiful, though. Inlaid details, marble floors and columns, painted concrete elements, wooden sculptures, giant gold statues, and rich, gilded details told me that minimalism is a subjective word. I would like to explore Buddhism for its tenets, not for its gorgeus temples. Or maybe all the "excess" was really just focused inside the worship rooms, and that would make sense. Don't get me wrong, I loved the look of the place, but I guess it's a cultural thing that I have yet to understand. Who's buying me my So You Wanna Be a Buddhist book? =)
Once again, 15 slots of partial to full scholarship is waiting to be awarded to successful applicants. Dancing Wounded – Contemporary Dance Commune unlocks again this summer The 2nd Tao Of The Contemporary Dancer - a launchpad for solo/duo dance. This program brings together in one platform four dance/body disciplines: classical ballet and yoga combined with 2 other paths in dancing – release technique and partnering, all converging into a composition class.
Open not only to dancers but also to individuals with a strong affinity to movement and dance and also, for those with a significant background in the performing arts.
The faculty is to be lead by Jose Jay B. Cruz, Artistic Director of Dancing Wounded – Contemporary Dance Commune, pioneering independent and contemporary dancer. Has been performing internationally, awarded a dance residency grant in Dance OMI, New York and with his latest work "Gestures of the Flesh" selected as finalist to the 2007 Yokohama Dance Collection. Dancing Wounded – Contemporary Dance Commune directs its effort in pursuing a more active and diverse contemporary dance scene in Manila with works centered on expanding the possibilities of dance by collaborating with musicians, singers, actors, poets, instrumentalists and visual artists. Dancing Wounded believes that the role of interface/ interaction and collaboration will change the landscape of creating art works in general. That in this light, because of expanding possibilities, one has to tune in to and be abreast with other disciplines that will greatly affect one's art. And because of the increasing demand in interaction and collaboration, the biggest problem then, lies into mapping strategies, procedures or systems to allow such works to come forward and be born.
