Forbidden to eat chocolate when I was a kid (doctor's orders), the sweet concoctions have never been a big obsession. I've always been more of an ice cream and pastry girl. But this, oh this, is a lovely piece of chocolate candy.
Now, I don't know the reputation of Swiss Delice over there in Europe where people really know their chocolate, but for someone like me who doesn't buy chocolate on a regular basis, and only does so with caution, the company's Surprise Citron & Poivre is, well, divine.
Bought it for lunch on Thursday (the day before some moron bombed Glorietta) and instantly loved it. Says the box: "Extra fine dark chocolate with a fruity touch of lemon and black pepper". Times like these, I'm happy I'm single and don't have to share this with anyone =D
The combination works really well--a piece of heaven, really. Make it just a wee bit more bitter, and it will be perfection. I'm making it a point to try the Champagne and Irish Cream variants next :)
(I once greatly enjoyed a bar of strawberry praline chocolate by Heaven--the packaging looks similar to Swiss, and I have no idea which one's a knockoff of which! :D)
